Our work at Sublime is inspired by President John. F Kennedy’s 1962 Moonshot speech: “We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win.”
Sublime’s technology was invented at MIT, in the greater area of Boston, a city known for revolutionaries who—since the Boston Tea Party in 1773—recognize when something is wrong and take it upon themselves to fix it.

Dr. Leah Ellis co-invented Sublime’s foundational technology with Yet-Ming Chiang at MIT, where she worked as a Banting postdoctoral fellow. She received her PhD in chemistry from Dalhousie University, where she worked with Prof. Jeff Dahn on lithium-ion battery optimization in partnership with 3M and Tesla.
